I don't even dislike it, I now RESENT it.

Winter. I'm not kidding, can you please cut us a break? Anne thinks people are sending death threats to Punxatawny Phil, and I'm apt to agree. Little bastard has a warm hole to sleep in until March, the rest of us are out here freezing our patooties off.

We are supposed to be getting more nasty weather tonight, so while it was still sort of not freezing, we got out for a walk. I would have posted more pictures of this, except that they are all of the back of her head as she looked at the sidewalk, the rocks, and the dirt. I would say "Scarlett, look at Mommy!" and she would reply, without lifting her head an inch "Cheeeeeeeeeese". Uh, almost.

One other trick we have picked up, which I'm finding pretty cute right now, but will probably make me insane in another month, is the new found ability to stall. I mean, really stall. The whole drink of water, one more book, walk as slowly as humanly possible, stall. Her original toddler enthusiasm for everything is starting to wane, and only becomes evident when it's truly deserving. Which apparently does not include nap time, bedtime, or getting our coats on.

Apparently, I was not on this vacation.

Why yes, it was a cold snap the weekend we chose to go to Florida, thank you for asking! This, along with the virus that we all brought back [I mean, what's the point of living in a warm climate if they actually have cold and flu season too? Might as well stay in the snow.] could have put a damper on our mini-break, but we are of a sterner stuff than that, layered up and hit the beach.

Anyway, I am in no pictures, which is actually fine with me because Libby + pregnant + cold = NO PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE.

It's her job to see that everyone is warm.

We believe in layers for everyone.

We also are having a winter like we haven't seen in a while. I can't remember the last time we have had snow on the ground for this long. I'm sure it's another harbinger of doom - like a reverse global warming effect, or maybe that little sh!t El Nino is back - but regardless, I've had it with this garbage.

So, the Spaghettios family is flying south for a few days. We are attempting to make up for the vacation we cancelled last spring, and although it's a bit shorter, it couldn't come at a more perfect time. Hopefully, while we are frolicking on the surf, the ice skating rink that surrounds our house will disappear.

Hope everyone we leave behind stays warm and dry - or at the very least, really enjoys winter sports.
