Still figuring out the whole flash/no flash thing. It seems we don't have enough natural light in our house. This might be a case of buying the shoes before the outfit. I might have to retrofit our house with skylights and bay windows for my pictures to achieve maximum density.

The next item you'll want is the Canon Speedlite flash. The flash that makes pictures look like you didn't use a flash, but instead live in a house of windows.
Or you can learn all your camera's manual settings.
I recommend ponying up for the flash at this stage of the game. If you've already used up Xmas, perhaps it would make a good Hanukkah gift?
